On This Day, June 4, 2006

• 17 years ago today (June 4th, 1989), there were a demonstration of students in the Tiannanmen Square Plaza as part of a pro-democracy movement. Deng ordered tanks and soldiers to fire into the crowd. At least 2,000 students died in the event, which came to be know as the Tiannanmen Massacre in the Western Society.
• 18 years ago today (June 4th, 1988), I was born at 12:15pm. One year later, I was experiencing my first birthday when all of the above was happening.
